East of Gold Canyon Az

Went metal detecting out east of Gold Canyon Az. today with some friends from Michigan. This is an old "woodcutters" cabin in that area. One of the guys found a quarter, I found some shell casings. Walked back in an old mine shaft, didn't have a flashlight so couldn't go back very far. Hit 82 degrees here today, we were up at about 5000' elevation at the cabin, much cooler up there. Found some interesting looking rocks too.

The old cabin was made out of grout with rocks fitted in to them. One of the guys said that someone was living in this cabin back in the 1980's and that the cabin had been in this area since the mid to late 1800's. Can't imagine living in this thing when the outside temperature is about 110 degrees.
