Blog didn't like that last picture I guess

Well I could see that picture last evening now this morning it's gone. It wasn't even obscene???

It was one of those animated pics that move. The land of cybersphere blogahooie apparently doesn't like it.

Off to work and help with the Veteran's day ceremony at the cemetary today. May Our departed soldiers (and loved ones) rest in peace this memorial day weekend..

Rough road up Cliff creek

They need to grade that road up Cliff creek. Oh well, not that far in there. The pic depicts what I looked like by the time I got back to the highway (if it posts).

Shot this pic today up near Green River lakes. Snowy and rainy and the picture didn't come out too good. But I'll post it anyhow...

Finally

Anyone who has ever owned a boat knows that the first startup in the spring is the hardest. I've tried to start this darned thing for a week now. Finally I sandpapered the battery terminals and all contact points off and sure enough.....it started... It's a darned good boat and a good fisher.... I think I'll sell it and get a small pontoon boat though, they have those little 11 ft. ones that easily seat 3 people, and they're really stable!!

Space shuttle

Love the space shuttle program, looks like it's about to end though. Took this off the tv the other day just before it docked with International space station. I'm saving my pennies to try to attend the last launch in November. Alas, dental crowns and higher diesel prices may squelch that... Getting my last days of fishing etc. in before I start work for ther Sheriff's office next week doing Forest patrol. I'll work 4 ten hour shifts per week from Memorial day through labor day. I'm really looking forward to it!!

More Las Vegas

And yet another pic from the Stratosphere tower in Las Vegas. Debi and I celebrated our 38th anniversary yesterday by doing absolutely nothing. Oh, we did dine at the Rendezvous pointe. Sue sure puts out a good meal there...

computers!!

Well actually nothing wrong with my computer, I just liked the animated picture.

Off to Rock Springs today to do some shopping and stop by the VA clinic and get a "shingles" shot. Through the VA they only cost $15.00 If you go to a clinic and get one they're near $300. I knew there was some reason I went into the army...LOL

Cruisin!!

A horrible picture of our cruise ship from a few years back anchored at Catalina island. I must have taken this into the sun. That was about 1994 (November to be exact). Right after I won the election and beat some guy from California.

Maybe today!!

If I'm really really good and get my work done, maybe I can go catch one of these guys this afternoon. Nothing better than "spring" fish from extremely cold waters....

Las Vegas Boulevard

Lots of folks around last Sunday when we were atop the Stratosphere in LV. The wind was blowing horridly and you could feel the tower sway back and forth.... I said....Lord....don't let there be an earthquake now...and he said....Hank.....ok...Not this time!!

Getting settled in, flat tires on boat, flat tire on 4x4...dead mouses in the traps...alas, it's good to be back home!!

Stuff inside Caesar's palace

Preparing to wed

Tim is a whole bunch "laid back", kinda like his dad I guess. Here the preacher was warming up the crowd for the nuptials. Oh a gust of wind of about 55 miles an hour went by just as Tim and Myndi were exchanging vows. The boy has ice water in his veins....Lots of Tim and Myndi's friends and relatives showed up. Was a really nice thing..

Ultimate jump off the stratosphere tower

Kinda hard to see the fellow in the center of the picture, he just "dived" off the stratosphere tower, cost $100. to suit up and do the "controlled" free fall. I told Debi I would do it If I won more than a thousand dollars gambling. I didn't gamble at all so didn't have to jump....When I graduated from boot camp in the army, being young, dumb and bulletproof, I almost went to airborn ranger school to learn how to jump out of airplanes into enemy territory. I'm soooooooo glad I didn't do that..

Bend of the river

Bend of the river (Green river about 35 north of Pinedale), brother Larry used to work for the outfit that pushed cattle up into the mountains in the summertime. This was one of their stopovers. About 15 years ago an old cowboy that worked out of the "bend" (I can't remember his name) got bucked off his horse and lay with a broken pelvis in the middle of the road about 2 miles north of this place. We found him and got him to the hospital "just in time". He laid there a couple of days as I recall. He was sure glad to see the search and rescue guys!!

Just right today, 80 degrees, no wind....and I want to go to Pinedale?????? Sheeshhhhh!!

Rose bush gone wild

Sutherlands have about 4 or 5 of these rose bushes blooming like mad. The 50 mph winds have kept them trimmed nicely. Our son and soon to be daughter in law will be here in St. George today on their way to Vegas to get hitched. We'll take them out to dinner tonight then rejoin them in Vegas Sunday. Our daughter Shelly and her "beau" will be down to Vegas Sunday also, should be a fun few days. the nuptuals occur Monday evening...
