Old cabin at Cottonwood lake

This is a picture of an old fallen down cabin on the east shore of Cottonwood Lake, 25 miles or so southeast of Pinedale Wyoming. I'm really not sure what purpose the cabin served? I looked for hidden treasures but found none. August 08

I'm going to have to come up with some fresh pictures, or show the old ones over... Rainy here today, got nearly an inch of precip the last 24 hours. More to come tonight so they say.

  1. Hank A man named Roy Mathis built the cabin so he would have a place to stay while he built the dam at the outlet. He worked there several years but when he returned in the spring it had eroded under the dam so he had to give up. Norm and Jep Ritche know the year and the history that go with the Mathis family. 2. Glad Craig knew about the cottonwood cabin. I was interested too. The Mathis brothers built the wonderful barns over there on East Fork.
