Paul

Hard to believe that Paul Raftery has been dead over 2 years. Brutally murdered in Montana. This is a pic I took of Paul when we traveled to Red Lodge Montana on motorcycles in 2003. He was a very good detective and solved lots of cases in Sublette County when he worked for me. Fortunately they caught the two that killed him and they are doing 25 to life in prison.

Many who read this blog know Paul but many don't. He left Sublette County S.O. in 04 to attend law school in Montana. He graduated and was working for Montana Supreme court in Dec. 06 when he was killed one night as he walked home from a night out with his friends in Helena Mt. The bad guys stabbed him to death and obviously got the jump on him because Paul was double tough.

R.I.P.

Square top mountain

Took this shot a couple years ago up near Green river lakes north of Pinedale. Now that that area is under several feet of snow and the temps are below zero most nights, it's kind of refreshing to know that it will look similiar to this next June. Hang in there you "nawtheners" spring's a comin..

Warmer here today. May hit 70 on Thursday. Some of the inmates here at the rv park (oh I'm just kidding, they're not inmates), are going to Mesa Az and get on the new light rail transportation that winds it's way through Phoenix and Scottsdale on Friday. Seniors (folks who are a tiny bit older like me) can ride the entire day for $1.60. Might get some interesting pics to post.

More Superstition mountains

Just when you thought he'd quit posting pictures of the superstition mountains, he does it again. For the lack of anything interesting to photograph today, here is the last (for a while) of the superstitions....

Rained hard here last night and this morning. If it keeps this up this will be one fantastic spring for the wildflowers in the desert.

Happy Camper

Found this pic on one of the RV sites I check on periodically. The trailer is in Chloride Az. Obviously not lived in much.... Cloudy here today, supposed to get up to about 55 degrees. I won't complain after watching Pinedales' weather

Cheap fuel

Deb-We were able to fill the pickup for $1.99 a gall. Pretty good. Had to make a Cosco run today. We got there a little before it opened and when they opened the doors, there was a good line of people. I couldn't believe it. The weather today is beautiful and I do not miss Wyoming at all.

New Years Day

Went for my morning walk and took this picture of the "Superstitions". Those Saguaro cactus are sure strange looking things, they're all very different. This one must be pretty old, it's kind of deteriorating on the bottom and the woodpeckers have pecked a bunch of holes in it. Bet those woodpeckers have an attitude change when they peck and get stuck by those barbs.

Happy New Year to all of you.
