Meridian RV park

Wow, we had a tragedy here yesterday, we have a motorcycle club and they went out on their ride, they got in an accident with a Corvette and almost the whole group lost control and wrecked.  One of my good friends was killed and another guy I didn't know so well was also killed.  My friends' wife is in the hospital critical.  And 3 more in the hospital as well.  Almost exactly a year ago this RV park lost two more on motorcycles near Biloxi Mississippi.  That's 4 fatals in a year.  Yikes. 

The Bend of the river

Bend of the river.  For my non Pinedale friends this is about 40 miles north of Pinedale Wy. where the Green River makes  a big turn towards the east.  Cabins are an old cowboy camp.  Beginning preparing the trailer for transport, maybe next week, not sure yet.

I snagged this picture of the wintertime shot of Fremont peak area east of Pinedale.  I think one of the search and rescue folks took it winter before last.   We may get our first 90 degree day Saturday.  My A/C works fine, hope it stays that way. 

Wyoming skyline

Thinking of home.  As the temps warm up here I think of the coolness of Wyoming but I have enough sense not to get there till Mid May (that's even too early).  Last year my water froze on the trailer June 3rd and 4th.  So, I'll soak up a few more rays here in Sunny Az. before taking the big step north. 

Salt River Fields

 Took this photo of Salt River fields baseball stadium in Scottsdale Az.  Spring training is in full swing now, I may try to go to a Colorado Rockies spring game this week sometime.   Had a big rainstorm today, wow, we must have got over an inch of rain.  Should really help this drought down here.

Found this on pinterest.com, kind of a cool website where there is everything under the sun.  Well almost.  Had a great day with friends down here culminating with a trip to a super good buffet.  Hit 85 degrees this afternoon but that will come to a screeching halt this weekend when we're actually going to get some rain. 

Balloon ride

 Rather a poor picture looking north out of the hot air balloon towards Phoenix.  That's Interstate 10 in the picture.  That air you see is what we breathe down here, almost want to trade it for some nice ozone.

Windy in Vegas this morning when I left and windy in Mesa Az. when I arrived.  Good to be home.

Miners needle area

Took this a while back.  Miners needle is east of Apache junction in the Superstitions.  Nice hiking area.

81 degrees here today, spent the afternoon watching NASCAR with some friends at the RV park.  We were going to go but the tickets didn't come through.  See it better on TV anyhow.

Hurricane Utah area

Took this pic before I left for Arizona. It shows LaVerkin and Hurricane Utah. Kind of a windy day here in Apache junction Az. Won't be long and the air will be filled with smog and other gunk. Pollen is terrible this time of year. The orange blossoms are starting and boy do those thinks make me sneeze. Weatherman says it's supposed to hit 86 degrees here Monday, that's A/C weather for me

ATV trip

went with a bunch of folks from our RV park to Tonto basin about 40 miles east of Apache junction Az. We were high enough that there was snow by the road. We put about 70 miles on the ATV's today. Great trip!!

Big Sandy

Not sure if I ever posted this pic from last summer. Driving towards Big Sandy openings and campground. Postponed and re-scheduled ATV trip for today. Going to an area north and east of Apache junction. Should be a fun day. Supposed to be 81 degrees here Sunday and Monday, above average.
